What a view from way up
    here -
    abundant green
    oak trees lush and vibrant
acorns, dandelions and daisies springing up
    as Ryders pass by
waning along the cobblestone alley-ways; cardinals
    and bluebirds, bees
fly by flitting and collecting sweets
    from nature scenes
    like honey-water sweet
    of Twin Falls, Ruby Falls
in the outback of Tennessee – crisp.
    Clouds plump and singing leaves
tremble in the pungent breeze - fresh.
    Chil’ren swinging
to and fro at the park on swings
    and on the
    benches they mamas’ is smoking
with feet in the sand… Lovely land
    here, just
    lovely:
lush green in the summer aromatics
    of sowing seed.

    I listen, I listen…
    I eavesdrop on nature scenes
    and sounds becoming…
    I see sounds becoming
    the blatant (yet bittersweet)
    testimony of ongoing
    growth, knowledge & maturity
    becoming one
    with the scene of serenity’s
often testy Mother. Yet the lush
    vastness is fruit of mahogany
    oaks swaying
    in the breeze
    of yesterday
    becoming now,
    becoming tomorrow
    becoming the day before yesterday,
    a cycle of vicious tedium.

    I listen… I know the testimony
and testify do I. I add
    my 2 cent.

    And
    whilst I await
the acorns’ dance and song again
    I become the testimony
    on the mountain
    of sowing seed.

    How beautiful. I love this.

You painted this scene for me. It was like I was at the park watching everything you described. This was full of vibrant imagery. I appreciate it.

    "And
    whilst I await
the acorns’ dance and song again
    I become the testimony
    on the mountain
    of sowing seed."

I really like how it ended too. This was really good.

WOW Jacquii!!!!!! The scenes all played in my mind. One by one. Like an old movie. Each beauty buiding upon the other.

    I listen, I listen…
    I eavesdrop on nature scenes
    and sounds becoming…

How picturesque and aesthetic. How tranquil and serene. I felt so calm..I want to visit these paintings, and behold some nature scenes.

This is one of my favorites of all!!!!!! Outstanding!!!!

Hey FASHA & KIM - I was sitting at the main park in Oak Ridge, TN and saw some kids playing in the sandbox and saw their mothers sitting around gossiping and such... I thought to myself "Wow - this is a beautiful setting for a poem" And what you've read is the result!

Thanx for your comments - I'm glad you like this one!

This poem should be read under a big oak on a red and black checkerboard blanket with a wicker picnic basket with a loaf of bread and a bottle of Merlot!:wineglass: You have the complete cast of nature's characters, MsJacquii! Creates a colorful, cheery mood...gives me a buzz.

Ms J...this is fabulous to the senses! Life, live being lived! Those afternoons that embed themselves in children's minds for a lifetime...nothing so precious like time spent with...!
    Chil’ren swinging
to and fro at the park on swings
    and on the
    benches they mamas’ is smoking
with feet in the sand… Lovely land

Lovely, indeed...pulling your self as the observer, into the crocheted ambience of the afternoon...

This poem is a bit abstract, as is most of my writings LOL

The 2 cent is a way of Negro speech - as opposed to 2 cents...
    Just a way of expressing:

"I listen... I know the testimony
and I testify also. I add
my 2 cents..." meaning I add my testimony to the great bulk...

Thanx for your comment ANNA ;)
