    BEACH POEM

    for Gary Snyder

    Light
    falls on the water

    blue and silver
    and golden

    trees sway
    in a nameless wind

    fragrant green leaves
    in the breeze

    the pine tree trunks
    dark and tender

    the cloudless sky
    calls out

    and the young sparrows listen
    and fly off

    What a beautiful poem Nikos:

I'm sure that Gary would fall in love with it as well.

It's so great to converse with someone as far away as Athens.
Keep them coming your poetry is wonderful.
Thanks for sharing it with us.

    Blessings

    Thank you Sally,

I see you are an Oregonian. That is Snyder country--Gary studied there and was there when he got the Pulitzer prize for poetry with his book TURTLE ISLAND.

He was a Reed College graduate, and he must have lived in Oregon for some time.
He is one my teachers and I never tire of reading and re-reading his work.

But perhaps you know all that.

    Thanks again.
