    Can’t Catch You

    How many times have you
    made your grand
    instant yet illusive appearance
and never known I was watching you.

    Lured by your radiance
    I’ve traced your every move
    enjoying our carefree dance
    as you effortlessly enhanced,
    each touch of light
    surrounding us.

    And I’ve learned to
    keep my distance
    when we meet
    for I understand, now,
    after trying to catch you
    you are too delicate
    never to be embraced
or you’ll vanish like you did
    before.

    Our chance encounters
    continue to revive me,
I never know when you are leaving
or even if you’ll show again.

    Sometimes I’ve seen others
    gone chasing after your charms,
and so, I don’t feel so rejected
    since you disappeared on them.

    Today, I just sit . . .peering
    Into the mist of your
    recent reoccurrence
    wishing I hadn’t
    tried to get so close.

    Dear Jerry :giftrose:,

:wow::wow: I really am speechless with this. I thought it was brilliant. You absolutely poured your heart and soul into this, and left nothing out. Each stanza alone is beautiful poem by itself, and collectively is a wondrous story of a love so delicate and intimate that cannot become. Yet is the catalyst of your undying love. To think that someone would think of someone in this way is just so powerful, poignant, and intimate. It reads like a melody Jerry. I cannot any favorite as I would have quoted the entire piece. I am in love with this one Jerry, and it is quite memorable. Just amazing!

I like this poem from the title to the words used and the concept of it all, It kept me reading on and wanting more because it is one of those poems where itz not sounding like you are a stalker itz more like you're in love with a woman and she is perfect how you see her from the distance you're at and that you don't wanna change that for many different reasons...I really did enjoy this and I wanted to quickly quote a line before I wrap this up

Loved this part; thanks for the read...

Jer, this is SO beautifully done! It speaks to me of Love, and the ups and downs we experience with Love...flitting in and out of our lives, wondering whether she will every stay, and we see her doing the same thing to others...elusive Love, intermittent Love, shy Love, never-overstay-your-welcome Love...LOL! This is a masterfully crafted piece...love it...love it!!

This poem is quite painful JER... I see a lot of me in this write actually, as I'm quite fond of saying "I don't do social" --- Interesting write no doubt - but yeah - sometimes personality disorder is something not so easy to get over, especially when you live in a world where people ARE actually trying to get a gander at the goods...

Interesting tribute to the elusive no doubt - Love poem JER
    Thanx for sharing!

KingAce, Therese, and MsJ - Thank you so much for stopping in and your gracious remarks. I appreciate it so much when I hear about actually making a connection with my writing.

KingAce- I often been concerned that my poetic affection could be mistaken for stalking and so I've "kept my distance" and just penned the emotions. Great pick up my friend.

Therese- Yes Love plays out like this everyday all around us and yet we know that there is one that sticks closer than a friend. The world's love is very illusive.

MsJ- Yes, PAIN! interesting that you picked this out. It is true that love's illusiveness can be extremely painful and many times when we get close to it we find WE don't fit the bill.

Wonderful insight from all of you!

Thanks again, so much, for sharing your time with me. I really do appreciate it!

    But is it love's illusiveness?
Perhaps love has a soiled name.

You are right it is not Love per se it is
as you said and the love they posses that others may want.

    Great catch.

I like this but I think more description should be used. So you chase a girl and she is pressured and she flees yes that is usually what happens, but what are her feelings? In a different way than just being scared. Is she overwhelmed here? I just cant feel the empathy I should. This poem seams to be about you, a contradiction in itself. Show me her emotion and I will applaud. I just think it should be a dual poem, thats all. \

    Tamare,

I think you have a wonderful idea here. Would you be interested in writing this response. I would love to see your impression of how this muse I had not been able to catch will come alive through your impressions! Thank you for sharing your thoughts. I appreciate them!

    Can’t Catch You

    How many times have you
    made your grand
    instant yet illusive appearance
and never known I was watching you.

    I was there yes, and
though I saw you I felt
it was better to compose myself

    Lured by your radiance
    I’ve traced your every move
    enjoying our carefree dance
    as you effortlessly enhanced,
    each touch of light
    surrounding us.

As you do this I see the
    forces holding us back
    I cannot challenge selection
and now I wait for you.

    And I’ve learned to
    keep my distance
    when we meet
    for I understand, now,
    after trying to catch you
    you are too delicate
    never to be embraced
or you’ll vanish like you did
    before.

    I am, this is true.
suitors flock and I am yet to
    know why.
My fathers wish keeps this so.

    Our chance encounters
    continue to revive me,
I never know when you are leaving
or even if you’ll show again.

This secret we share together must
be broken for it breaks me.
    Let us run………
Run away together so we shall be
    with one another.

    Sometimes I’ve seen others
    gone chasing after your charms,
and so, I don’t feel so rejected
    since you disappeared on them.

I left because of my love for you
    This you should know,
I cant have you and even though
This is true I will not sacrifice my one true
    God given half.

    Today, I just sit . . .peering
    Into the mist of your
    recent reoccurrence
    wishing I hadn’t
    tried to get so close.

Oh how I miss you so.
If love is not a word
    I will not speak
If my heart is not enough
    I will surrender

If I cannot be with you I
    Will give this breath
Should that not be enough I
    Will wait eternity for you

In Time to come we will
    Be together.

This is all I have and all that
I can give, for I love you and this is
    What has challenged me so.
