dream the past... a blur or is it real?
failed attempts to be aloof in this world....
I have been dead to grace... set apart to be damned
settling down with the grime of this earth....

    awaiting awakening of the soul
awaiting a will not of my own
awaiting a turn of life out of my control

does this make me one with them?

the rest of humanity in the eyes of the eternal
before we ever came into existence
our paths were set without our choice
I am the product of a hopeless past.
    my upbringing has made me
into the man I am today
without faith... no hope in life after death
just a everlasting need to find
the perfect possession to keep me entertained
supposedly I am unique, set apart from everyone else
but yet I’m judged as an equal with the rest of the world...
    by the impartial almighty hypocrite

    good God....
why do you judge us all with equality?

a race so diverse and complex in belief, sin, faith, and origin
how can I be equal to this world of angels and monsters?
users, accusers and the ones with clouds in their vision.
how can I be one with these fiends, dolls, antagonists, and plotters?

the urge to make an image different has been suppressed...

because of my fear of outcome....
of what has already been said....
I was born in a prison...
my mind has no will for right....
I wish, I dream, but I go on believing
    in permanent infirmity

because I’m afraid that I'll turn out just like the rest....

    praising a God of determination...
where the fuck is this supposed free will?
we are creatures of carnal desire...
    we live… think… breathe… sin...
we were all born in the pit of the darkest womb...
from which all lust and forcefulness had been consumed.
    tenderness extinct and non-existent...
loving dictatorship has now replaced it

the reason why I’m so inclined
to reach for some higher ground...

a ground beyond set points in time
free of limitations and prying minds

    to escape to the sky....

a sky free from government… free of spirits... just me.

I send my freedom to the stars....

searching for fire and churning metal...
so my soul can be refined
made anew in a life of passion...

I send my love to the universe...
in wishes of escaping this black hole of a world...

    thank you very much e-brook!

at the time i wrote this i reflecting on the biblical aspect of equality...
that particular idea infuriated me so much...
i thought..."how could i possibly be judged as a equal with the rest of humanity?"
i guess it's just something that we have to accept as God's wisdom...

ok Mysty...dumb this down for me. You say that you believe in God and don't need to read the bible cuz you "I just know I believe... because I have been shown the light."

The first 5 verses of the Bible say that you cannot possibly do that. You must assume that the Bible is true in its entirety to believe. That means that, "In the beginning there was the Word, (and the Word was God). so i have a hard time understanding how one can believe so intently, yet not even want to listen to a word God said. How can you know a God you don't even listen to?

not tryin to be mean...was a preacher's kid, so i'm just tryin to understand.

BOTS, at what age did you write this...I agree with Erik...very philosophical indeed...and very passionate as well...

The Bible doesn't say that God judges us equally...it says it will be worse off for (e.g.) those who lead little children astray...and many more like that. If you read it you will find there are two judgments...one that sets his people apart from those who do not choose him...then after that, one that determines how well we each individually served Him while on earth...remember the parable of the master who left different #s of coins with his servants?

But to take the poem at face value...it's very well written and does make one think...

    Thanks for sharing,

    okay...

there is a difference between sin and people... sin is a act... people are human, and born into sin... God judges all sin equally.. basically He judges all actions the same.. so in this world of lables and brands, supposed muderers, rapists, drug addicts, you can whipe all those stereotypical lables away... because the root of those brands is sin.. it has a thin connection with being human.. because a person must choose to act ( or subconsciously act) on thought or impulse... that is the beauty and horrer of free will....
so in this poem i was trying to define how i was set apart from my past sin once i excepted Christ.. but yet i am still labled by the world as the same as them... and i know i am different because i choose not to act on impulse but on thought....
and just as a side note... there is alot of controversy over predestination in the bible...
i do not believe that anyone was hand chosen or predestined to be saved by God. I believe we ultimately choose our destiny... because if we did not... that would violate the universal rule of Free Will....

alright there.. there is all my opinions straight forward and out for everyone to see.. this, the perspective of a once homeless youth. if you can imagine being homeless... you probably automatically lump me in with the crowd of abusers and drunks.... well, God has protected me despite of me not asking, or helping myself... I am a clear headed individual... who has had no desire for a escape of the chemical kind... and if God only helped those who helped themselves... then we would have a added additional mass of people to the rising death toll that there already is... whoops.. i just proved you wrong...
