    Don't take offense
but you're fatter than a sow
    I'm looking through my lens
you're brown spotted like a cow

You look so stupid and ugly
    I can hardly believe
    all the things that you
    are trying to achieve

    Looking like that
    is such a crying shame
    Are you actually
    trying to make a name?

    *

    I have to tell you
    what you think you see
    is really distorted
    and doesn't look like me

I wish I could meet you
so you could see me right
    a small nervous woman
    a little uptight

    Please understand what
you can do with a lens
    you can make an illusion
    It's such a pretense!

    My self esteem is hurt
    my balance - so wrong
I'm beginning to believe all this
    after so long

Two poems I have read here today and they both have such harsh lines. :faint:

These lines stick to me most. I like the theme of the "image" versus "reality," which is probably why James Joyce's "Araby" is a memorable story to me.
