    Bright and spendid,
    suspended in space.
    What keeps them up there?

    What makes them
    **Twinkle**
    like diamonds?

    Balls of light...

    thousands upon thousands,
    of wonderous
    heavenly bodies.

    Each one with it's own
    exixtence.

    But sadly,
    many fall,
    quickly and quietly,

with a silent tail of light
    trailing behind
as the last bit of life ends.
Showing us that it is dying,
    and leaving its home
    forever.

    Telling us that it is
    leaving behind its last ray
    of hope.

    Never, never to return.

    Hoping that someone
will see it for the last time
    before it finally
    and
    quietly...

    expires.

    Thanks erik:

I always value your comments. I wanted to take a subject like a star and turn it into something others can think about. Star gazing is a wonderful thing to do. I watch the skies every night during the summer months. Ya never know what one can see.

    Thanks again

    Blessings

    Dear Sally,

Love this one Sally so much. One of my specialties as a Scientist, and one that I teach is Astronomy, and Astrophysics. Additionally, star gazing is indeed a very big hobby of mine as well. Therefore, I cannot tell you how much I am in awe of this piece. I must have read this 50 times, lolol. :bravothanx:This has every component of a beautiful and classic poem. Going into my favorites right now, and an excellent rating!

    Sally,

I posted on this once. Don't know what happen to my comments. Even though this poem is about stars I have felt kind of like these stars with things I've done in life. My Fav:

    Thank You Dear Jer:

I'm glad you enjoyed this poem. I was star gazing when I saw a falling star once and it inspired me so much I had to write about it.
    Thanks again
