The ETHEREE is attributed to American, Etheree Taylor Armstrong. The style consists of 10 lines of unrhythmic and unrhymed verse, the first line has one syllable, with each succeeding line adding a syllable until the tenth line has ten syllables. An Etheree should focus on one idea or subject.

    The etheree is a very flexible form of poetry that lends itself to the writer's creativity. Try a Reverse Ethree (10, 9, 8, 7, etc...) OR a Double Ethree (1, 2, 3.... 10, 10, 9, 8, 7, 6, etc...)

    Example by Jacquii Cooke:

    Freedom

    souls
    of two
    united in
    real love: blissfilled
    with truelove wishes
    and such wild reverie,
    are like dreams under stars:
Ev'rybody wants to be loved like
Merlot and glass clinks and subtle winks
of lust. Me: I just want to be Freedom....
