    We wore the feeling
    Like an inside-out t-shirt
    Certain as courage
    With a kind of swag
    Only kids could channel--
Which is exactly what we were
    --Spell cast under the scent
    Of menthol cigarettes,
    And the frequency of
    A thousand engines
    All rolling together
    Here, on the i94
    We came close
    To absolution--
    Racing down
    A fine line
    Of never-ending
    That appeared
    To blend into
    An amalgam of motion
    And suspension—
    Floating fast—
    Toward nothing—
    As always, as ever…
    In foreign cities
    Where radio 95.5
    Looses reception
    And with it, the rest
    Of everything we know
    Gives way to the static
    In our minds
    And a kind of solace
    Is born as we bask
    In the clarity of
    Simply being lost

    There are no words
    Just the heavy
    Of our silences
    That say too much
Or too little, or just enough
    And that was our recipe
    For goodbye.

Riveting read this one. Love the quoted above - so fast-paced and effortless. Leads beautifully to the culmination, otherwise called "recipe for goodbye"

Brilliant piece of poetry indeed made for a riveting read. Thanks for the sharing :)
