    Greater Values
He struggles to pull her out from under the waves
But the wind picks up and blows him back to shore
One last tug at her feet brings her to the end of her days
And he feels as though he has nothing more
He feels as though she could have been saved
And now his world is without its warmth

And so he sits in the sand alone
Praying that this was all just a dream
And he decides that this hurts more than broken bones
And now he must end himself, it would seem
Now he clenches the sand at his side
He clenched until his knuckles turn white
And he wishes that it was he who had just died
And that she was safe in bed at night

And then he wakes up in his bed
    Thereafter, tears envelope his eyes
He sits up and throws hands up to his head
And breaks down into a desperate cry
Then he feels a hand creeping up his back
And that hand reaches his neck
And his hair stands on end at that
By now, he's an emotional wreck

He turns and looks deep into her eyes
And he tells her of how she had died
And the tears pour even harder
She tries to wipe them away
But she too has started to cry
And suddenly, he says through his tears
"I love you," after facing his only fear
    And so they wept
    They smiled
They told each other of their love once more
    And then they slept.

I was just standing around my studio, hating life, hating the position I'm in, the position my family's in, the positions my friends are in..and I started speaking to myself. I just started talking. Then I started preaching. I admit, this is heavily inspired by La Dispute - Fall Down and Never Get Back Up Again. Though I hate how things are going for myself and those around me, I know that with every rainfall is a rainbow, with every death is a birth, with every heartbreak is a lesson, and even during times of darkness, there is a glint of light. With sadness, comes happiness. Life is about lessons, so let it teach you what you need to know. Respect.

    [/COLOR]Hello,
This is very good I liked it. What I like even more was the source of inspiration. I would offer some words of wisdom but from your footnote, it seems you know what is to come. I will say yes I agree, you current situation is not the end of times, it is only the ending of the beginning. The past might be history, but the present is golden and the future is a notion. Only time will tell, but for now enjoy the today because you can breath and that is all some ask. GREAT POEM...

    Wow - respect, guys!

I'm truly speechless, I mean..to hear that my work is actually..admired is a wonder. I don't know if I want to publicize my work through means of performing publicly, or if I'd like to establish and broaden an influence through street art. Some real Banksy-like stuff, only instead of stencil art, it'd be stencil speech, I'm going to refer to it as :p. Thanks a million guys, here comes another one I just finished writing earlier tonight..Things are really looking up after all, even after that short period of time. Here comes the rainbow. :)
