    I wish I had money
    Just lying around
So I could battle my debts
And get my feet on the ground

    I wish I looked more
    Like the girls on tv
    More glitz and glamour
    And less of just me

I wish the man I love
    Didn't live so far
    Makes it kinda hard
    With no money or car

    I wish I was knew
    What the outside looked like
    All day in my prison
    The one I call life

    I wish I had a child
    With beauty of face
With a smile to melt the heart
And a warmth to fill a place
    A child so wonderfully special
He'd take all my troubles away
Make the world I'd grown to resent
Into a world where there is play

Now I have that special child
He lies sleeping in his bed
I fight the urge to wake him
Just to kiss his beautiful head

    There are no more wishes
    He's taken them all away
    Callum, you're my baby boy
And I love you more each day

Hey MS VS - Very lovely wishes you've made. I can relate to each one, especially the one quoted above.

I was kinda surprised by the ending of this poem, as your wish has actually been granted. Made me smile the biggest wide smile to think that perhaps my wish may also come true.

The caring sentiments that you've shown in the last stanza was just so beautiful. Such is unconditional love!

I liked this poem - Thanx for sharing it!

    Jacquii.

Ms VS, I thought you could not write poems!?! Very lovely indeed, and your wish is actually an extention of yourself, which is the most beautiful part of the poem. I love this. Brings the warm smile out of hiding.:)

Dear Ms VS...this poem you have written is precious...it is a star that fell from the highest point in the sky when your wish was granted. A child is the most precious subject of a poem. Blessed Be...

This is a very real poem to me. I can kind of relate. I think society doesn't always wind up sending good messages to people. But it sounds like you have found your happiness. And obviously that's a good thing to read.
