    "If Shame Had A Face"

    If shame were a picture
would it hang on a brace
    for others to point at
    its awful disgrace?
    Would guilty be written
    all over its face?
    If shame were a picture
would it hang in this place?

    If shame were a color
    would it be crimson red,
    embarrass the barer
    when something was said,
    emotions expelling
    with a feeling of dread?
    If shame were a color
    would it be crimson red?

    If shame could be viewed
    through a mirror of lace,
    reflecting the seer
    with both humble and grace,
    then allowing the sense
    of unworthy efface
    a sight undeserving
    if shame had a face.

    Blessings
