Una violencia- viento agita me ropa
el centro del patio. Las tremulas
    hojas de palmas y tamrindos,
    somabras cantas
    en los espesuras como trasagos.
    El rio corre como un
    pero azotado.
y ahi estabas vagar en el soledad
en los esposos por de suenos.

    Noche tras noche
    yo tengo mira tu baja
    la luna gitana
en la horas que tu duermas.
Espejismos de fantasias, y encuentros de romanticas
    en lugarse exoticas, romorosas pestanas
el opaco de tus labios temblorosos.

Y nada turbia el largo silencio
    noche tras noche,

Tal vez tengo
    cometido un error fatal,
    culpable de negacion infinita
    porque amo-
amo con toda verdad y mi alma.

    ------------------------------------------------------------

A violent wind wrestles my robe
center of the patio. The leaves
    of palms & tamarinds tremble,
    shadows sing
    in the thickets like goblins.
    The river runs like a
    weeping dog
& there you were shifting in the solitude,
    in the dampness of dreams.

    Night after night
    i have watched you beneath
    the gypsy moon
in the hours that you sleep.
    Mirages of fantasies, romantic- rendezvous
    in exotic places, rustling eyelashes
the purple of your trembling lips.

    & nothing rattles this silence
    night after night,
you a million leagues from here
blind to my pressance. Smiling with memories
of so many men before me.
    & i feel feverish, a prolonged wound-
    feel more alone than ever.

Who is it getting you to smile like that-
    that arouses your flesh
    so that you forget me?
    In the insomnia of night
beneath a long stage of bitterness
i suffer at your expense in
    the madness of my soul.

In the morning you'll return to me
as if reborn, criminal as a snake.
    & I don't understand but an enormous helplessness/
    a great sadness. Perhaps i've
    committed a fatal sin
    because i luv-
i luv with all spirit & truth.

    This is so beautiful.
I espesially love the first verse:

"A violent wind wrestles my robe
center of the patio. The leaves
    of palms & tamarinds tremble,
    shadows sing
    in the thickets like goblins.
    The river runs like a
    weeping dog
& there you were shifting in the solitude,
    in the dampness of dreams."

So much is captured here in these words. The wind wrestling the robe, leaves trembling, shadows like goblins, the river runs like a weeping a dog. The nature is so alive and the spirit so much a part of life's mystery. The beauty of suffering is well illustrated.
