Caught, not by moonbeams dressed with Summer’s kiss
nor by the Midnight’s constellations bright,
    eloping aficionados flight:
secret unions, so extra-eyes will miss.
No brilliant stars burst-forth romantic charms
deception’s potion seeks to take a life
for stolen worship of another’s wife
by exchanged passions in a strangers arms.

    Concealed from Hercules and Orion
a wisp of smoke rises to end the tale,
of conduct that inflamed grief and travail,
killing the bond whereby lust feeds upon.
    Helpless to restore, virtuous Virgo
fades quick into the brightness of daylight
with no weeper to peer through the skylight
or stars to witness the heartbreak below.

    Oh how the stars shine.
Very well written on the constellations.
I love to gaze into the mysterious, and you brought the stars out to the forefront for all to see.

If one wasn't a star gazer this poem would surely make them one.

Your imagery was flawless and direct. Thanks for sharing the night sky with us.

    Blessings

LOVED LOVED LOVED this Jerry. I teach Astronomy and also star gaze. This is lovely in concept, and execution, would also make a phenomenal painting. Thank you Jerry for posting this, as it brought out beautiful images to daydream of.

Well written and developed. The ancient gods of the constellations still hold sway among the stars. I enjoyed your write.
