The dictionary defines "miracle" as: an effect or extraordinary event in the physical world that surpasses all known human or natural powers and is ascribed to a supernatural cause.
I disagree. I think there are a lot of little everyday miracles happening all the time. In fact, I think that just waking up is a miracle!

    Life's Miracles

A gentle breeze on a hot, hot day,
wafting by with the scent of hay.
A humming bird with colorful flair,
    flitting by, stopping in mid-air.

These are some of life's miracles
    that keep me sane
    all through the pain.
    These are life's daily miracles,
    moments of bliss,
    we often miss.
Too blind to catch life's miracles.

Hot chocolate on a cold, cold night,
steaming cloud of sweet heat, delight.
Moonlight dancing on an icy lake,
frosty cloud in each breath I take.

These are some of life's miracles
    that help me through
    when I miss you.
    These are life's daily miracles
    that pass us by,
    when we don't try.
Too blind to catch life's miracles.

    Agree with your
    thoughts. a

    As most don't seem
    to think of the subtle
    things happening, all
    around us as .... yes
    miracles too.

    And yes ' do
    notice these
    happenings you
    have mentioned.

    Thanks for the
    read.

    Thank you, Kyanta!!!!
This was one of those poems that could have been 30 verses long! I have a very hard time knowing when to stop, once I get started writing! (and talking) LOL!

    JEEZ!!!!!!!!!
    Wonderful to see you again!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I've had to be away for so long and I have really missed our chats!!!!
Glad that you liked this poem - it is the first one I've posted in a long time. I've been afraid of posting my stuff because the publisher made me delete all of the ones that I used in my book.
With any luck, I may be able to catch you on here later - sure hope so!

    - Tree.

I laughed before I even read the poem Tree! Yes!waking up is a miracle, but I agree with the description...don't you think?...it is certainly not attributed to any human power, and we have no control over whether we wake up or not...and no control of whether we will draw another breath...and double Yes...there are SO many miracles around us every second of the day that they do sustain us, sometimes even subconsciously, without us realizing that they are buoying up our spirits.

now to the poem: :wow: heart-meltingly beautiful, Tree!!...it delicately dances upon the spirit and takes the reader exactly where you want us to go...to the thought of our own miracles...thanks for sharing this one...so happy that you are posting again, Tree!!

    TY Nomad!
Of course I agree with the part that says miracles surpass all known human power!
The part I was disagreeing with was that the dictionary definition used the word "extraordinary". I was trying to point out that there are a lot of very ordinary things in this world that truly are miraculous and that we can see them whenever we just open our eyes to them.
Many thanks again for taking the time to read and comment! Much appreciated!!!

    Hey now Tree,

    Great write - and attitiude....
You're right, there are so many miracles around us every day of our lives we don't even realize them. Either we're too busy, we're just not lookin' at them right or we just take 'em for granted...
Thank you for your gentle reminder of just what is....
    Thanx Tree....

    Hey Sis,

This was fantabulous! Every thought process and every word you so beautifully executed. I agree as well, miracles are happening all around us, some visible, some are not, some in small doses, some in large, some recognizable, some not, some gained, and some lost. Beautiful!

Thank you all for the wonderful comments!
This was one of those poems that just seemed to write itself.
I was sitting in the middle of a field at the bluegrass festival, waiting for the band to start and just doodling in my notebook when I wrote this.
It does say what I wanted it to but I wasn't sure if I really liked so much repetition in it. Too much repetition can make a poem boring but judging by your comments, I guess I wasn't too boring with this one!
Thanks again - very much appreciated!!!!
    - Tree.
