I was going to make this one longer... But I fell asleep :D

    Smiles!,
    ~Serenity~

    Not So Simple Truths
    Forgive me mommy
    I've done you wrong
    I used your name
    In spite for so long

    Forgive me daddy
    I cursed your name
    For so much hurt
    I gave you my blame

    I let the world in
    To see my mind
    Using my words
    So cold and unkind

    And though truth lies there
    Inside my tears
    There's truth lacking
    Forgotten in years

    Truth of the good times
    Laughter and fun
    I remember
    Between the clouds, sun

    Why'd I not write of
    Times before screams
    Simply because
    Those times seem like dreams

Hey Bubbles....So yeah I really liked this poem luckily I read it in a mellow mood or I might have simply looked over it, but umm basically I wanted to quote and comment on a certain part

    Why'd I not write of
    Times before screams
    Simply because
    Those times seem like dreams

This to me is the ultimate explanation of how life seems when you are depressed or heart broken, I simply love it and don't think it could have been put better; Thank You

Nice write SERENITY - I think your poem has a bit of irony in it... You apologize - but there is innuendo that perhaps you are not the only one who should be doing the apologizing:

Yeah - the persistence of memory is a funny thing - It lumps the bad with the good... Yet in times of turmoil - to have memory of those good times is kinda like a little bit of a miracle.

Liked this poem very much SERENITY
Thanx for sharing it with us ;)

Really makes one think, and feel beyond our safety zone. To learn that parents are human and not perfect is quite something as we grow older. At the same time, when there is more hurt to carry on then there are good times, it can become hard to reflect on what was 'good' when we're in need of such. Thank you so much for causing me to reflect on my own past, not only as a child, but also as a parent. A very good write!.

yes our memories are so very selective, sometimes positively so, but oftentimes negative.
i think we can all relate to regret for our unbalanced views of those closest to us.
