Primarily a Trait of Men,Bravery has been
Narry have Women been Respected with such.
Yet one Woman of Britain had it Very much.
Such a Brave Woman just had to be seen.

Boudicca was Her name,a Brave Lady was She
    And a Scourge to a Ruthless,Bloody Empire!
She came down upon them with Steel and Fire.
Fighting to set Her Country Free.

A Queen She was and full of Great Passion
She decided it was time for Rome to leave
Her attacks were more than Rome could believe!
The Empire in Britain had gone out of Fashion.

As the Warrior Queen Scourged Her peoples' foes,
    Rome had planned Her demise.
Yet,She went forth amidst the Blood and War cries,
Rome had finally delivered unto them their tragic woes.

And as the Battle had ended, the worst carnage e'er seen
    Boudicca,Her own life,She did end.
And to follow their mother, did Her daughters so intend.
Thus do I compose this Ode To A Brave Queen.

Ah Yes - the Warrior Queen Boudica. Isn't it interesting when we (as a society) talk about courage and bravery we tend to leave out the woman? At anyrate - what a beautiful ode you've written. I didn't know much about Boudicca until a while ago - Special on the History Channel actually, where the Warrior Queen was featured commentary. Very nice special actually. So yes - Bravo for courage whilst in the face of horrid foe.

Thanx for sharing this poem with us ;)

    To Jacqui

Your Appreciation of My Poem is Very Welcome.Boudicca was Great Woman, though 1 or 2 tactics could be questioned.Be that as it may,no one else, especially,no Men,had the Unbreakable Courage to put fear in the bodies of the Romans at that time(Until Attila The Hun and also the Germanic "Barbarians").It's easy for me to write Tributes to Brave Women.Your Gender are My Favourite People.
