    ~PENCILIS~

    When dark clouds
    of depression block out
    the sun of elation,
I just call on Pencilis the
    yellow savior, the graphite
    god of all inspiration.

    I prefer god Pencilis to
    goddess Inkress because when
    my muse decides to pull
    catch twenty two's,
    irrationally scattering verbs

    and adjectives all over the
blank pages of a history in the
works, I can call on him and he
    can make her mumbo jumbo
disappear with one scratch of his head.

    When I start to drift
to the dark loosing faith in
myself and him, he as smooth as
    silk glides his point across
the waves of my thoughts, across
the canvas of my soul sparking
insight, leading me back to the light.

    Pencilis has a number for
    every power he possesses but
power number two, his power of
expression is used by far the most
    and with this mighty power

    of expression he sometimes
channels into my muse and leads
my hand across the papyrus of
    time to spread whispering
    words of his lead language
of love which I so happily follow.

Now would that be an HB#2 pencil or the standard HB Paper Mate?
No mater, because you have written a very creative poem.
I enjoyed your work here as this was fun to read! I hope you had just as much fun writing it!

    Dear Karen,

It shows. The fun, the creativity, the power of poetic expression. I love the way the ~Pencil~ has humanistic characteristics, and how you made the pencil have a soul of its own while expressing the importance of why the pencil is needed. I absolutely love this new take and fresh poem as this poem put a smile on my face. Keep'm coming! An excellent rating---->yes!

This is one of those character-driven pieces...of all things...a pencil which we think of as such a animate thing (until it's picked up)...this is a very creative and fun poem and I am almost 99.9% sure I wrote a comment on it way back when...but apparently it didn't get posted. I loved it then, and I love it now.
