The poetic form RETOURNE is what happens when a kyrielle is mated with a glosa. There is a total of four quatrains within this style originally from France. The second through fourth lines of the first quatrain become the first lines of the second through fourth quatrains. Octosyllabic lines.

    Example by Jacquii Cooke:

    Dreaming Life

When the rain falls, flowers blossom,
Scent fills the air. Such a wonder:
    Honeysuckle and Magnolia
Sweet is the earth, heaven scented.

Scent fills the air. Such a wonder:
    To behold such powerful fumes...
I'd like to capture only once
The untamed scent - I'd write a pome.

    Honeysuckles and Magnolias
    Mingled like ecstacy of gods.
To own such a beauty (pure, ripe)
To have 'ever - what'd be the odds?

Sweet is the earth, heaven scented
    And fair and pretty: Justified.
When the rain falls - Men repented
    And freedom caressed, dreaming life.
