    Wind tickled jewelweeds
whistle a choir wild blue lilacs/
    tangy- lemon poppies
    & lavender- ambrosia. Murmur
    loquacious calico leaves tap- dance
    emerald cobblestone streets.
    Sky of velvet/ origami monarchs
    plague the satin- mandarin breeze;
    rice paper wings fluttering
    an orchestra wild tambourines.

    Clanging cymbals
conch shells & dried sea urchin,
    salt clapping- sapphire tides
    pound the bronze tainted shorelines
    midnight thunder the deep jungles.
    Chime of sweet cane
    croons a humid caribe' chorus,
limbs of royal palmas y casarinas
    rattle loud as marbled- maracas
    la musica de tropicos.

    Symphony dusty marigold
    molasses sunbeams, sherbet sparrows,
    & neon- pink flamingos
    serenade the melting horizon
    a melodious deep maroon bluez.
    Mud moths flicker, ram kamikaze
    into dim porch lanterns,
    sunsets violet shadows
    slowly caresses terra- cotta hillsides
    a polyrhythmic lullaby.

    Dear Ariono,
What a beautiful poem to wake to. A polyrhythmic lullaby, indeed. Oh, you took me there. That is a gift of yours, that you so humbly share, taking us there...poetically placing us within the poem. I was there, experiencing the sites, sounds, and beauty of all of it. I needed a vacation this summer, and was unable to go anywhere, now I can say, I went to "Santiago de Cuba". To write like this, as I have said before, is truly amazing, and a gift from the Heavens. The words, and selection of words, were so vivid, so fluid, so aesthetic, so beautiful!! I could not even quote a favorite, for I would have quoted the entire poem. The intricate infusion of your beautiful language with the imagery was something to behold also. I read this multiple times. I want this poem! LOL!! To be able to collab with you, as we are, is very humbling to me, and I thank you again. I am the one who is blessed. Thank you for sharing your "gift" of Writing.

    Ariono,

This is truly a sketch of loveliness...it took me to cerebral places...a vacation, if you will. This refined piece is absolutely pristine of the National Geographic aptitude of poetry, baby! Santiago de Cuba is the upper tier of poetic demographics and this poet knows his literary location...truly a vivid masterpiece!! A joy to read such colorful, skilled and valuable work. Blessed Be.

Hey ARIONO - reminiscent of Smeary Pigeon this one! Very picturesque tableau of words... Kinda like the salsa itself though, whether the dance of the condiment! Very lovely melding of poesy - I like

The highlighted lines above really just some up this poem. Its colors are pungent. The rainbow of hues: pleasant

Nice sharing  Please do tell what inspired you to write this beauty!
    Thanx for sharing

    Jacquii.
