    Seashell Voices

    There is a voice
    within its depth,
    that only nature hears.
    Where waves and tides
    are ever swept,
    it sounds throughout the years.

    Within this voice
    beneath the shores
where sea life can be found,
    in sheltered homes
    on ocean floors
    expel a rhythmic sound.

    Beyond the voice,
    within its depths
    that we as humans hear,
    where wave like tones
    are ever kept
when held up to the ear.

    Below the realms
    in ocean tides
    there lies so many choices,
    from rhythmic tunes
    where they decide
    to share their seashell voices.

    Blessings

Sally......I enjoy your poetry very much. In this poem my curiosity is aroused by the fact you changed the meter in the last stanza, making it a half a foot longer then the foregoing stanzas. Is there a reason for this? Is it to conform to a certain rhyme scheme in a style of poetry? Regardless of why, I did very much enjoy the rhyme.

Thanks you guys. How kind of you to comment.

erik: I sit humbled. Your feedback is a warm gentle hug.:friends:

Sartor: WOW! great eye! I changed the meter in the last stanza, because while I was writing it my poetry muse walked away and left me to finish it. (can you believe it?) I get a lot of that. When I finished the last stanza without my muse's help, it sounded pretty good so I left it that way.
Thanks for catching that. You're good! :wavey:

    Dear Sally,

A very intriguing write. The meter change seemed to flow nicely as the ending stanza quite well. I believe we can still hear our muse, even when silent. Great write, loved the title, content, and the poetic journey. Thank you for sharing.
