    Sketch You In Sepia

    A light coat of ink
    still cannot capture your tenderness
    from dusk till dawn
    I sketch you in sepia

    On parchment, I form
your eyes, your touch, your mouth
    In my thoughts I blend
    our hues; they compliment

    I outline your lips
with the soft bristles of my fingertips
as if studying Braille; eyes closed
then I sketch you in sepia

My quill trembles to draw your heart
    splashing watercolor
defining our still life; I feel safe
then I sketch you in sepia

Added pastels glisten; your soul shines
visions of diamond dust and honeysuckle
    then...I finished your face.
    With stained hands
    I sketch you in sepia

    Hey now PD,

Drawing the perfect mate? You sketched a great picture with the "soft bristles of your finger tips." Although in complete contrast to Liz, this was no less a delight to read.
Closing with "with stained hands I sketch you in sepia" really put the clothes on the mannequin (so to speak) - it finished your poem nicely.
Great penning PD, kudos to you........

I love the artistic coloring devoted to this piece. My visual was smothered in sepia. I'm sure dreams are in color as some argue, and certainly our imaginations are gifted with ability to see whatever knowledge we store and change it's hue at that. My ability to use Photoshop probably helps, I can easily see the color change to sepia. Enjoyed imagining this one, the artists hand guided by double passions, the poetry and the art.

    Felt every line of
    your sketches,
    then the

    movements

    as your fingers
    smoothed along
    the picture.

    Beautiful!!!!

    Thanks for the
    read.

This poem gives you such a feeling.. such an image you can't easily get. It conveys such a sweet meaning and 'story' if i can say =) Really nice ^^

    I really like this stanza

"Added pastels glisten; your soul shines
visions of diamond dust and honeysuckle
    then...I finished your face.
    With stained hands
    I sketch you in sepia"

    So beautiful...

Dear Jolie, Zaac, Jeez, and Riha...thank you so much for taking precious time to read and to comment. Jolie...I did let my artists' hand guide this one and I am glad you enjoyed the canvas. Zaac.....for you...and your welcome.....Jeez....omg...so good to read you...hope all is well, and thank you so much for commenting Jeez (I MISS YOU!), and Riha...thank you soooo much for reading and commenting. You captured the essence yes, and I was going for a feeling not really scribed about and that is the feeling of the love of art and an artist in love. Thank you all so much...I am honored. Love you all.

    PD :)
