    Jazz Singer Girl
Collaboration by Poets (in order - alternating lines):
    MsJacquiiC and PaintedDiary

She's diversity personified, playing her piano keyboard
Tenacity and strength in her rainbowed aura of colours
That jazz she sings wells from within and forth it pours
Like two paintings of Niagara on one wall: Art museum

Billowing a smoky soliloquy, Lady Day style
Notes as fine as a red sable brush
Stroking a Harlem canvas; A still life of Strange Fruit
From her instrument echoes the heart of Jazz

One wish residing in her soul, an epiphany of sorts:
To play that Ellington caravan the way it is
meant to be played; To master the keys (if you will)
and open the door to a miasma of song.

A jazz era love affair; pure elegance
The way she enchants the keys would give one pause
Playin' a courtship of ivory swans and onyx doves
Butter cream smooth; she is a sophisticated lady

So sophisticated Da Vinci couldn't capture her lines,
Her hipsway on piano bench a Mona-Lisa-masterpiece.
More scrumptious than Cezanne's peaches, this girl is
Bad. Her rhythm is freedom-flight personified.

Throwin' down scat like Grandmas' peach marmalade
Ancient oceans ripple with her sway; Harlem's Mona Lisa
Victorious; A ticklin' ivory wish; she brought Ellington back awhile
She is bad, her passion is jazz; phenomenally does she sang.

Oooooo! There's so very much I absolutely LOVE about this collabo! But I will just quickly comment on a duet of lines by KIM:

As soon as I read those lines - I knew this poem would be simply brilliant - Those two lines really epitomize what the poem is about - And what I'd initially hoped the poem would BE.

Love the two styles meshing - just so intertwined!

You two out did yourselves. I liked this very much.
Jazz, Ivory, Onyx, Love and romance and wrapped up in one.

I especially liked this part best.

A jazz era love affair; pure elegance
The way she enchants the keys would give one pause
Playin' a courtship of ivory swans and onyx doves
Butter cream smooth; she is a sophisticated lady

    This alone is superb!

    bravo! for both Of you.

Just a little tag of my own to these wonderful words, hope your ladies don't mind. I can't help myself. (((Hugs)))

Oh, and I love this line (Butter Cream Smooth) I'm gonna barrow this line and add to this little tag of a poem. This is what you two inspired.

    "The Sophisticated Lady"

    You are
    ~
    The melodies of soft jazz
    We share
    ~
    Amongst each others hearts
Your heart is Is one I share
    One I embrace each night
    ~
Your love is only a breath away
A love I've always wished for
    ~
    While we lye together
In the ivory of your soul
I kiss your sweet tender lips
    ~
    "Butter Cream Smooth"
    ~
Carrying you to the heart shaped
    Rose garden
    Of your soul

    Art

    Thanx for commenting JEEZ :)

Hey LASHER - thanx so much for commenting - Of course Cezanne is one of my favorite artistes and what should crazy me think of when channeling Sexy Jazz Girl? Peaches of course :p --- Thanx again - glad you like it!

Ah Shux! Twas a fantabulous collabo indeed MS KIM - now you see why I wanted to poet with you for so long - I think our styles really complimented each others and makes for a beautiful beautiful read! A pleasure GIRL ;)

One of my favorites too ART - I loved KIM's metaphor "ivory swans and onyx doves" AND the "butter cream smooth" Epitomizes the Artiste quite nicely!

Thanx so much for your comments AND you poem - If you like though - post your poem in its own thread - ALSO respond to the PM I sent you if would please!

I bet some of YAWL don't know - but I wrote a similar poem ((not nearly as AWESOME as this collabo)) but the Pianist/Singer I pictured: Diana Krall --- Love her music - I think she would be thrilled to read this one!
