    The Heart Of You

I will sift you like wheat
    the chaff will fly
    about the sky
    your essence
    remaining
    your character straining
    to prove
    the truth of you.

    You sing words of love
    but your eyes cast
    a different shadow
    sideways
    perusing
    new sexy young things.

I will press you into fine wine
    or you will be
    no man of mine
    the lies will drain away
    staining the clay
    like fresh blood
    cutting
    to the heart
    of you.

It would be a shame to keep this heartfelt poem untitled.
Might I suggest.. To The Heart in You.

I enjoyed this poem very much. Thanks for sharing.

    He deserved every word.
A flourishing crop gone to seed,
powdered truth, packaged like cool aid.
Just add water, and he yours.
    You've sculpted the devil himself,
melted by a glass of wine.

Sally, Deb, PD & Jolie...wow ladies, thanks for the overwhelming responses! Sally thanks for the name suggestion, and I'll ask Kim to please title it for me since I cannot edit that part. I added the name to the body, Kim. Thanks bunches.

I appreciate the comments and the time you all took to read this little ditty that I wrote in a jiffy :ss-rolleyes: .

I sort of agree with DEBORAH's comment - The poem is BRUTAL indeed - but what I like about this write MS N - is that it get's to the crux of the hypocrisy within and just rips it out of there LOL - Such a wealth of truth that some would be scared of this type of no-holds-barred writing.

I thought the rhythm of your poem was just so succinct and crisp really - the way you composed the lines into such small stanzas just accentuates your words - not a word wasted in this scribe Poet! A very nice write!

    My favorite lines:
The 2nd stanza was just on fire! Then the follow-up "I will press you into fine wine..." That was FIERCE Girl! AWESOME write - Thanx for the share!

Thanks Ms. J!! haha...I didn't think it was that bad, but maybe I'm too honest for my own good...why I'm single maybe? I just came back from Belize in a small village where Cheating is headlining every night and it's the first thing that sprang to my mind. It was a little too much and sad I must say to see that people have fallen into a rut and accept that stuff like that "is normal for a man"...not in my world! So, yes brutal honesty is the name of the game...for those who dare to play. :fishsmack:

    Therese,

I know from whence these words sprang forth. This could indeed be the Master speaking to every man who fains his love for the Lord! And your standard should be at least that high. One more thought: a man would be blessed to have a woman who cared this much about his character.

    My Fav:

    Incredible!

    I loved it!

HA! "Alas, many of us can't stand up to the sifting...."
MS N - you are an incredible Poet - I just read your work again
It's amazing the euphoria one can get from admiring the work of another!
Yes indeed! Some WILL not stand for the sifting - I suppose that's the last famous words of the Pillsbury Dough Boy LOL ---- "I will not do any mo of that sifting shit...."

So what - the comment is slightly off-topic :p
Anyway- A very brilliant poem MS N and I'm proud to be in the company of such talented Artistes as yourself :goodpost:
