    its never easy
    when you play the game
    when you carry his heart
    but not his name.

    its never easy
when youre the one who waits
    not sure if he's coming
    praying he's only late.

    its never easy
    when you want to phone
but you have to be certain
    he's home alone.

    its never easy
    when youre face to face
    and you want to say
    "i love you"
but his wife is in your space.

    its never easy
and you wish she was dead
    when you lie alone weeping
and they're curled up in bed.

    it's never easy
and that by God is true
when the wife is your best friend
    and the other woman
    Is you.
