    The Silent Ones

    A bittersweet embrace
the ones who are left thinking of the ones left behind

a rapturous roar, sanctity is nothing more than peace

a holistic cleansing, that left only the hands clean

    soft avenues through bathroom stalls,
    bleeding fences,
    trees aware of it all,

what was known as light is now the sign
run plenty, run far and you'll survive

an ellusive question, what is pain?

something everyone knows like a viral stain,

but we are the silent ones
    shuned to corners

    pruned like hedges
    raped like pieces of meat

    we are the scavengers
    ravaging with words
proped up on highlighted pursuits of Adam and Eve's fruit

    we are the silent,
    poems are our voice.

erik, hey hombre think you may have nailed this one yeah. the title had my mind in preparation something so much more foreign than what was presented. just luv when that happens. some bold passages proved the vehicle this journey quite awe inspiring, por ejemplo,

"sanctity is nothing more than peace
a holistic cleansing that left only the hands clean...

an ellusive question, what is pain?..."
(or the substance that conjures such is so universal, yet unmasking not so much)

    "we are the scavengers
    ravaging with words
propped up on highlighted pursuits of Adam and Eve's fruit

    we are the silent,
    poems are our voice."

on a side inquisition, or perhaps it's just mi lengua nativa mixed english, yet i did have a difficult time enunciating that last line aloud. i tend to venture several times silently through a canvas, & once or more aloud to actually feel the play of words roll off the tongue & to measure my own countenance & blood pressure. did enjoy the body of labor regardless. 1-

p.s. may want to drop the typo “L” in elusive… paz-

Erik this is a magnificent piece of poetry, every line harmonizes with my inner thoughts of a poets voice and since I have had the same feelings I think I could have written this only I dont do words as good as you.. Bravo!
