    I had forgotten this thread and went to post my favorite. Lo and behold, the SAME thing I had posted already...

    Medora - these are very powerful indeed. Makes you pause and wonder at the "will" of some and those who allow it silently... some even pleased to be the one "serving". It does take all kinds to make the world go 'round.

    This poem speaks to me because it's all about overcoming (with your head STILL held high) whilst in the midst of tribulation so perfectly unbearable that your very existence is a miracle of God. I look to these minority people who have overcome and it makes me proud of the quote I use on my personal poetry website to describe my own writing:

    In that case make sure not to miss a listen to "Augustine," "Gringo," "Harbor," "Shasta (Carrie's Song)," "Antebellum," and "Stray Italian Greyhound." Although I like everything by her, those are my biggest addictions at the moment. I especially love how all-over-the-place her meter is in "Harbor."
