    River dances over stones
    Merrily singing its way...
Until the fingers make it pause
    Make it hesitate.

    Sparkling hair like gossamer wings
And robes soaked with River's tears
Her eyes shut tight and dripping
Bloody tears to wake our fears.

Wings lay broken as she lies
But the sky is blue and clear.
The sun shines down upon us...
So wrong this day I fear...

Up I lift her, she does not stir
And to my home she goes...
I pass the village and ignore their stares
These wounds of hers must close.

    The bandage about her face..
The bloody tears on her cheeks...
Her wings lift and she stirs
I shrink away until she seeks.....

    Me.
