    When I Touch A Rose

When I see the dawning of a new day,
    I see hope for tomorrow,
    I see thankfulness for yesterday,
I see new opportunities in my love for you,
    When I see the dawn.

When I feel a breeze against my cheek,
I feel the nearness of you,
I feel your love surrounding me,
I feel your arms embracing me,
    When I feel a breeze.

When I hear the ocean kiss the shore,
I hear you as you call to me,
I hear the rhythm of our lives,
I hear your thoughts as they come to me,
    When I hear the ocean.

When I see the full moon rising high,
I see your countenance shining brightly,
I see the reflection of your love,
    I see into your heart,
    When I see the moon.

When I touch the petal of a rose,
I touch the gentleness of your love,
I touch the beauty of your heart,
I touch the fragrance of your being,
    When I touch a rose.

In all that is in and around me,
    You are there,
    When I see the dawn,
    When I feel a breeze,
    When I hear the ocean,
    When I see the moon,
    When I touch a rose,
    You are there,
    You are love.

    Anna,
It is this kind of love that we all seek. Complete and total committment. Sensed in presence and in absence. Sadly, the world is so full of people who are committed only to themselves and their ego stands in the way. So few find real and genuine love. You are young and I am old. I have found this kind of love. I wish the very same for you. Be patient, be watchful, it will come. Accept nothing less and commit not to anything short of the real thing. " But now faith, hope, and love remain--these three. The greatest of these is love. " First Corinthians 13:13

    thanks so much!

I'm happy you've found this true love....

I hope i can be this kinda true love for God too....
In the meantime, I'll be patient.

Nice, Corinthians 13 - The love chapter :]

    Anna,
So strange you would mention, "I hope I can be this kinda love for God too". When I first started writing "When I touch a rose" it was to be an expression of Love for God. For His is the greatest love of all. When I finished I changed a few things and ended up with two poems, one a bit different from the other, one of which was a love poem for God and the other a romantic poem of love. Thank you again for responding. You are a beautiful person though I have not looked on your face you have allowed me to see into your heart.
    Ron

    Ron,
    I had a feeling...
wow. Thanks for writing this....it was amazing...can I see your other poem?
God's love is the greatest love of all. I've been reading and learning about his Grace, and sometimes I despair about how lowly I am and how it is so hard to achieve that Love...I want to love him with all my heart, my soul. But...many times, I put other things before him "/

thanks for telling me I'm a beautiful person...sometimes we need to hear that about our soul, about ourselves, and not just about the outside.
You are a beautiful person as well, in your talking, in your poem.

    May God Bless You,
    Anna

    Anna,
I will try to remember where I have filed the other version and dig it out and send it to you.

Meanwhile, under spiritual catagory I have another poem called "A love So Beautiful" It is actually words written to the tune of a song called "A love so beautiful" and was sung by Kenny Rogers and Sting. Check it out if you have time.

Life, as you grow older is not always an easy road. Keep God in your heart and number one in your life. you cannot go wrong.

    Ron

    Valerie,

I am glad that you like this poem.

I appreciate the fact that you have taken the time to tell me.

    Your words are very generous.

Ron, this one left me speechless!! This is so beautiful....my favorite of all of nature is the ocean, so this really moved me...you put into words the elusive feelings that we treasure, once upon a dream.

When I hear the ocean kiss the shore,
I hear you as you call to me,
I hear the rhythm of our lives,
I hear your thoughts as they come to me,
    When I hear the ocean.

The love that you express here cannot be surpassed...something we all look for throughout our lives...and you found it!

    When I see the dawn,
    When I feel a breeze,
    When I hear the ocean,
    When I see the moon,
    When I touch a rose,
    You are there,
    You are love.

aaahhh..my heart melts away into a puddle of soft caramel...

I really and truly loved every bit of this one, Ron...and enjoyed it immensely as well.

    Therese
