Soft the white dove on soaring wing
above the strife of serf and king.
    Passion’s pulse begins anew
    moistened sweetly by love’s dew.

    Now the slumbering phoenix wakes
in covetous lust its thirst it slakes,
to be consumed by dire desire
in the thrust of passion’s fire.

To live, to feel again the pains
of want and need in mortal veins!
To be transformed in thought and deed
and in embrace to sow life’s seed.

    Intoxicating, musky scent
    envelopes fields of passions spent.
While the phoenix now in ashes lies
my white dove soars in azure skies.

Thanks Kim - anyone that can feel the passion of true love is a white dove. The cyclical, animalistic (or physical) component of love is characterized by the phoenix. Not that there is anything second-class about the phoenix, it is essential so that the white dove can soar ever higher.
So you see, you are the white dove.

    Dear Athlone,

That is just so beautiful, and this one of the most beautiful poems I have ever read in my life. The aesthetics of the concept and the concept itself is beyond. Yes, may the Phoenix make a path, for me......a white dove. Thank you soooo much for sharing such phenomenal beauty.

    Dear Athlone,

I invite you to read my poem called Like A Phoenix (I Am Painted Diary) in the Critique Saloon, and please if you have time to spare, to Critique. I would be honored.
