Septolet
The SEPTOLET style of poetry consists of seven lines containing fourteen words with a break in between the two parts. The line break comes between the 4th and 5th lines. Both parts deal with the same thought and create a picture.
After doing a bit of online research I was unable to come up with a definitive amount of syllables per line, words per line, or a specific rhyme scheme for the septolet poem. Below, however are examples of the septolet poem
Example 1 & 2 by Unknown Author:
Untitled
Clouds
forming subtly
across the horizon,
dark gray.
Lightning
flashing bright
and quick tonight.
----
----
Untitled
Eagle
circling above
protecting the tribe,
hunting food.
Mouse
squeaks as
the eagle swoops.
----

Example 3 by Megan Lutz:
Lion Woman
Prowling,
Lion woman
Seducer of men.
Trembling heart
Naked, heat
Rising from skin,
Ecstasy!
