GUIDELINES ---------------

The Cincinnati Review welcomes submissions from writers at any point in their writing careers. We read between September 1 and May 31. Manuscripts arriving during June, July, and August will be returned unread. At this time, we are not accepting electronic submissions. Please note simultaneous submissions in cover letter. We can only respond to manuscripts accompanied by a self-addressed, stamped envelope (SASE). Address submissions to the Fiction, Poetry, or Review Editor:

FORMAT ---------------

• Poetry: Please submit up to ten manuscript pages at a time. Poet's name and contact information should appear at the top of every poem.
  
  
• Fiction and Nonfiction Prose: Submissions should be under forty double-spaced pages. Include name and contact information at the beginning of the work. We do not accept genre fiction.
  
  
• Reviews: We consider reviews of new books of fiction or poetry. We encourage longer, single-book reviews of around fifteen hundred words.

PAYMENT ---------------

$25/page for prose; $30/page for poetry

Our usual response time is six weeks.

The Cincinnati Review acquires first North American serial rights, including electronic rights; all rights revert to author upon publication.
