Earth Island Journal, the award-winning quarterly environmental magazine, is happy to announce that we now have the budget to pay writers. We are paying 25 cents/word for in-depth features, and 20 cents/word for shorter dispatches. We are looking for investigative reporting and thought provoking essays that illustrate the subtle, but profound, connections between the environment and other contemporary issues. We want stories that scan the horizon and uncover environmental concerns before they becoming pressing problems. On-the-ground reports from outside North America are especially welcomed.
