WRITERS: Accepting poetry, fiction, and creative nonfiction. Submit two copies of everything, including cover letter. Manuscripts must be typed. Poets, please send 3 to 10 poems. Prose is preferred to be double-spaced; there is no word count limit. DON’Ts: Except for special editions, we do not publish drama, writing for young adults, genre fictions or academic articles. All interviews and reviews are solicited – do not submit these. No electronic submissions. Simultaneous submissions discouraged, but allowed as long as you let them and us know. Do not submit previously published work. Do not send multiple genre submissions. Do not send entire manuscripts, story collections, or novels. Wait until you receive a response to one submission before submitting another. SUBMISSIONS WILL NOT BE RETURNED.

ARTISTS: Hunger Mountain publishes high-quality reproductions of a wide variety of artwork and both b&w and color photography. Slides preferred (indicate side up). Do not submit less than 3 or more than 15 pieces. Cover letter should include the following: title, size and medium of all works; any places where work has been or is being shown; any awards the artist has received. SUBMISSIONS WILL NOT BE RETURNED UNLESS ADEQUATE POSTAGE IS SUPPLIED.

ALL CONTRIBUTORS: All submissions should include a cover letter with submission date, contact information, a brief bio and titles of work enclosed. Include your name on all pages and/or slides. All submissions must be accompanied by a self-addressed stamped envelope (SASE) for reply. If response time exceeds three months, query via postcard or email indicating date submission was postmarked. Hunger Mountain ’s reading period is closed during February and March.
